Alifat-ul-khatt
As I immersed myself in the enchanting world of calligraphy, a spark of inspiration led me to coin the term “Alifat-ul-Khatt”. The term Alifat, pronounced as Alifa, (with a silent t) is an Arabic word which translates to ‘gentle demeanor’. Alifat-ul-Khatt is a careful fusion of “Alifat” and “Alkhatt,” with “Alkhatt” translating to “the line” or “the writing.” In this seamless blend, a profound meaning emerges – “The Gentle Artistry of Calligraphy.” The Idea behind creating “Alifat-ul-Khatt” is to promote the rich artistry of Islamic calligraphy, while paying homage to this revered Islamic heritage, where the graceful strokes of the pen become a means of expressing beauty and devotion.
